Mark Vile
Director

Mark is the Director of Onward Consulting. He is an accomplished environmental professional with 20 years of domestic and international experience in the provision of environmental services. He has worked within and as a consultant to large resources, energy, infrastructure and industrial organisations, which have included BHP, Rio Tinto, Newcrest, Santos, Whitehaven, Senex Energy, UPC Renewables and Austrak.
Mark believes that the ability to connect and communicate with people from the farm gate to the boardrooms of large corporations is the key to successfully delivering projects. He places importance on delivering projects responsibly so that they become a win-win for the community and the proponent.
Mark holds a Bachelor of Environmental Science and Masters of Business Administration. His key technical expertise includes environmental approvals and public consultation processes, liaison and negotiation with Government agencies, and mine site rehabilitation.
Servaes van der Meulen
Senior Environmental Manager

Servaes is a highly trusted and committed environmental compliance manager with over 20 years’ domestic and international expertise in the resources, oil & gas and transport industries. He has a proven ability to provide effective leadership across the full scope of the environmental and regulatory compliance function, from inception through to execution, commissioning and operation. Servaes’ astute eye for detail and persistence in delivering great outcomes for clients makes him an incredibly valuable member of any project team.
Servaes specific major project experience has included client-side onshore environmental engineering and management roles on the INPEX Ichthys LNG project, and contractor roles with Aurelia Metals, Whitehaven Coal, BHP’s Guinea Alumina Project in Guinea, Queensland Gas Corporation’s LNG project in QLD and a number of upgrade sections of the Pacific Highway in NSW.
Megan Martin
Senior Environmental Consultant

Megan is a passionate environmental professional who has 14 years of experience in resources projects across Australia spanning several commodities. Having primarily worked on site or close to the operations, she enjoys engaging practical solutions and being ‘hands on’. Megan firmly believes that compliance and good environmental management do not have to be challenging if good systems are implemented and effectively communicated across all areas of the project. She loves nothing more than a complicated problem to immerse herself in and identify a good outcome for the client.
Megan holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and is currently working towards a Bachelor of Laws. Her experience includes on site environmental management, environmental management systems, monitoring, compliance, regulatory reporting and engagement, community liaison and mine site rehabilitation.
Carmen Osborne
Environmental Project Manager

Carmen is an environmental consultant with 8 years of experience in environmental management and sustainability. Her project work spans across multiple sectors including coal seam gas, mining, infrastructure, and urban development. Carmen’s key skills and experience include independent auditing, regulatory compliance, developing and maintaining Environmental Management Systems, preparing Environmental Management Plans, environmental risk assessments, project approvals, and infrastructure sustainability ratings. Carmen is recognised as an individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, technical report writing expertise, proven leadership ability and strong technical knowledge. From project planning through to construction and operation, she has strong knowledge of New South Wales, Queensland and Commonwealth environmental legislation. Carmen is currently studying a Master of Environmental Management and Sustainability part time to further develop her knowledge and expertise.
Alessandro Kennedy
Environmental Project Manager

Alessandro is an enthusiastic environmental professional with 7 years of experience in resource, energy and infrastructure industries across Australia. He has been instrumental in the delivery of several major approvals for greenfield and brownfield projects on behalf of organisations such as BHP, Whitehaven, Evolution, Rio Tinto and Newcrest.
Alessandro is passionate about sustainability and solving complex problems. He believes that excellent project management requires attention to detail and regular communication with clients, regulators and the community in order to achieve the best outcome for all stakeholders.
Alessandro holds a Bachelor of Engineering with honours, and is well versed in project management and the preparation of environmental assessments. Alessandro’s technical experience spans a variety of fields including surface water, groundwater, land use, visual amenity, noise and air quality.
